Catering update for the Dumas Bay Centre
You asked for it, and we heard you! You wanted more options on food services. As we reopen from the Covid closure, we realize the world has changed and we are changing too. That means more options for you.
The hard news to report is that when we reopened, our Chef resigned his position and with this change we had to adjust. For all groups that are under current contracts, don’t worry! We have secured familiar faces to continue our food operations. Café Pacific Catering, under the direction of both Chef John Hatcher and Chef Miguel Roman, to provide the high-quality meals you have always expected. Some long-time clients might remember Café Pacific Catering as our original food service provider at the Dumas Bay Centre for our first 11 years. We are excited to have them back and thankful for their abilities and willingness to step in and cover catering operations.
As we move forward with new events and contracts, we have found the need to step away from catering operations and focus on space/time rentals. In the coming months we will be developing policies to assist you in your catering needs. As you know, our staff is a resourceful bunch, and we will be here to help guide you in your food service needs. We just won’t be providing it for you anymore. You might want to order Uber Eats, Door Dash or Grub hub from many different local eateries and they will deliver it to you. Maybe you want to have your favorite local caterer deliver your meal, or maybe your group likes to bring in potlucks or snacks to share. Now you can do it. And don’t forget to have a pizza night. You might also like to try ordering from Instacart, who delivers from several local stores – Costco, Fred Meyer, USfoods Chef’ Store to name a few – as well as lots of other options.
We can tell you that there will be freezers and refrigeration provided by us. We will also have a full ice machine available for guest usage – if you bring your own coolers. The vending area is still onsite with lots of snacks and essentials you may need. And if you forgot some utensils or plates, we will have paper products available for purchase.
Please note that we will not provide cooking or heating options and cannot allow cooking onsite. All food must arrive ready to be served.
We know this is a big change and will take some time to get used too. We are here to help you, and hope that you will continue your support of the Dumas Bay Centre. We look forward to answering your questions as we prepare our new informational paperwork to guide your successful events.
We are very happy to welcome back Cafe Pacific as our preferred caterer. Please contact them at 253-852-0135 or at email@example.com for your food service needs.
